The elegance of Jiangsu antique furniture (Autumn 1998) (30 October - 15 November 1998) For centuries, Jiangsu Province in eastern China has been famous for many things: the richness of its culture; the fertility of its soil; the beauty of its architecture and, last but not least, the elegance of its furniture. The province's style and elegant craftsmanship enjoyed such a high reputation that the imperial household sought out craftsmen from Jiangsu to create furniture for the Imperial Palace.
